The response you have experienced is not dissimilar to my own nearly 20 years ago and is, in fact, the reason we distribute CMD today. CMD is generally recognised as safe (GRAS), so, great for most animals. I know of a parrot breeder who gives it to all of her birds, cats and dogs. Some cats are magnesium sensitive so be cautious with this.

I use CMD on all of my plants at a ratio of 10 drops per 1 litre of water. I also drip it onto any cuts I may have – it stings but they appear to heal quickly.
